Ghost Anti-Theft System
The Ghost anti-theft system provides a robust, stealthy, and technologically advanced layer of security for vehicles in South Africa, specifically designed to counter the evolving tactics of car thieves.

The Ghost is a unique, next generation device that secures your vehicle without the need for cutting wires or adding after-market key fobs. Bring your vehicle to us for installation.
What is the Ghost Anti-Theft System?
The Ghost is a discreet, invisible immobiliser that prevents your vehicle from starting unless a unique, user-defined PIN code sequence is entered. Unlike traditional systems, it:
Has no key fobs or LED indicators:
This makes it virtually undetectable to a thief.
Doesn't cut wires:
It integrates with the vehicle’s existing CAN (Controller Area Network) data bus, meaning no visible alterations to the vehicle’s wiring, which is a key advantage as thieves often look for signs of aftermarket installations.
Doesn't transmit radio frequency (RF) signals:
This prevents thieves from using sophisticated scanning, code-grabbing, or jamming technologies to detect or bypass it.
Is silent in operation:
There’s no tell-tale clicking of a relay that thieves could listen for.
Smartphone App (for some versions): Some Ghost anti-theft systems can be controlled via a smartphone app (Bluetooth connection), offering features like automatic arming/disarming when you walk away from or approach the vehicle, or manual control.
Why is it particularly important in South Africa?
Given the prevalence of vehicle crime in South Africa, the Ghost system offers several critical advantages:
Combats Sophisticated Theft: It directly addresses modern theft methods like key cloning, relay attacks (where thieves amplify the signal from your key fob), and ECU swapping, which are common tactics used by organised crime syndicates in SA.
Discreet Protection: Its hidden nature means thieves won’t even know it’s there until they try to start the car, which can deter them from continuing their attempt.
Ghost anti-theft system – how does it work?
PIN Code Sequence: The core of the Ghost system is a unique PIN code that you set. This code is entered using existing buttons within your vehicle, such as those on the steering wheel, dashboard, door panels, or centre console. For example, your PIN could be a sequence of presses on the volume up, window down, and cruise control buttons.
CAN Bus Communication: The Ghost communicates directly with the vehicle’s ECU (Engine Control Unit) via the CAN data network. It prevents the car from starting until the correct PIN sequence is entered.
Disabling Key Functions: Even if a thief has your original keys (through theft or cloning) or attempts to swap the ECU, the vehicle will not start without the correct PIN. The system effectively disables critical functions needed for the car to drive, such as the accelerator pedal.
No Detection by Diagnostics: Because there are no visible wire cuts or external signals, the Ghost system cannot be detected by standard diagnostic tools that thieves often use to identify and bypass security systems.
Valet/Service Mode: The system includes a “service” or “valet” mode. This allows you to temporarily disarm the immobiliser so that your vehicle can be driven by a mechanic or valet without them knowing your personal PIN code, thus maintaining your security.
Emergency Override: In case you forget your PIN or your phone battery dies (if using an app-controlled version), there’s usually a secure emergency override process to get your vehicle started.
